We celebrate the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord this Sunday, and at Mass we will celebrate a blessing for all the families who have celebrated a Baptism in the past few years, so please join us in praying for them. More information is on the poster below. Servant Sunday is also back, at the 10:00 Mass with our 1st grade students.
Also this week, on Monday is QnA with Father Bob at 6:00 in the Youth Room; join us for answers to your questions about the faith, and snacks! You can submit your questions ahead of time, fully anonymous to Lynn Hopfensperger, or by replying to this email.

Music Notes
As we draw to the end of the Christmas Season this weekend with the Baptism of
the Lord and return to Ordinary Time, we will be changing the music for our Mass
setting. This is a familiar setting done over the years. “Mass of Christ the Savior”

Composer Dan Schutte wrote this setting in 2009 and has become one of the most
well-known and used Mass Settings. The common musical motifs make it easy to sing.
And what a beautiful way to praise God by singing the prayers of the faithful.
We will use this setting for the next 8 weeks. I will review some of the music in Masses over the weekend of January 18th & 19th (2nd Sunday in Ordinary Time) to get everyone reacquainted with the setting.
I would like to give a huge Thank you to our Choirs (Regular, Men’s, Bell) and
individual musicians and singers that helped make Christmas at St. Gabriel a time of
Celebration and tradition. These people (young and old) that you see every week show us why music holds such an important position in worship. Thank you all so very much!
May you be filled with the wonder of Mary, the obedience of Joseph, the joy of the
angels, the eagerness of the shepherds, the determination of the magi, and the peace of the Christ child. Amen
