Happy Friday!
This weekend is Catholic Schools Week! At Mass, hear about our school system from students of our own parish; and after the morning Masses, there will be tours of St. Gabriel School! I'm excited to see you there!
As we mentioned last week, St. Gabriel is happy to team up with other Neenah Churches to provide a warming shelter in these cold months. Come to the training day, tomorrow, at 9AM if you are interested in volunteering! Any help is greatly appreciated.
St. Paul Church has been looking at opening up our Fellowship Hall on very cold days as a daytime warming shelter. We will open when temperatures fall below zero. In order to keep our daytime warming shelter guests safe (and our volunteer “staff”!) we are needing 3-4 people for each shift (8:30 am-12:30 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.). That’s a lot of volunteers, especially if we have a cold spell that lasts a few days. We are reaching out to see if there are any people from your congregations who would be interested in volunteering. There is a training that will take place on Saturday, January 25 at 9:00 a.m.-Noon in our Fellowship Hall. We are moving quickly so we can “open up” in February if the weather gets brutal. Please share this information with anyone you can. They can contact me for more information if they’d like. We would like to know who is coming to the training so we can be best prepared, so anyone who is coming to the training should call St. Paul Church (725-3961) or email me (pastor@stpaulneenah.org).

Closing Prayer
Tomorrow, Saturday, is the final day in the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. We read in the Gospel that Jesus himself prayed that "they may be one, even as You and I are one" (Jn 17). So now, we are excited to be working with other churches in a few ways in the coming weeks. I hope some of you are able to make it to the training tomorrow I mentioned above, as well as joining us for a service to pray for peace in the world, right here at St. Gabriel on February 23rd at 2pm.
I think it is also quite fitting that this weekend's Mass reading is St. Paul's discourse on us being 'one body, though many parts'. So our prayer today comes from the Mass 'For the Unity of Christians'. God Bless, Keep Smiling, and I will see you next week! - Victor
